I cannot begin to describe how glad I am to be able to post on this blog again! After more than a year of absence due to a demanding Masters of Architecture course, it is a relief to be able to begin blogging on a regular basis. During the time I have been gone, I have been trying to build the ultimate capsule wardrobe tailored to my needs. I often found that my closet lacked good quality basics, which in my mind function like the canvas of all outfits.
During my quest for wardrobe essentials, I have become fascinated by blazers, which I always thought they looked odd on me, but with the right fit, they can really upgrade an outfit. I could wear this particular one every day. I really need to step up my game and get all my blazers tailored.
Speaking of wardrobe basics, I have been on the hunt for vintage Manolo Blahniks. Having recently rewatched SATC on a binge I couldn’t help but notice how much I loved all of Carrie’s Manolos. They are the ultimate, effortless looking, classic pump. They are extremely elegant but down to earth, and I adore the way the heels taper, it is such a minor detail, but it is the brand’s signature, distinguishing it from all other black pumps. I really appreciate small understated details, contrary to huge logos. I eventually found these in my size on eBay, so I waited patiently until the bidding war began and with a bit of persistence they were soon mine.
PS.: The vintage Gucci sunglasses are also from eBay. It’s almost like I have found this amazing loophole to buying high-quality brands without going broke instantly.
